6 Reasons You Should Include Infographics In Your Content Marketing Strategy

Looking for a way to make your content stand out? Want to widen the reach of your business quickly and creatively?

Then it’s time to consider adding infographics to your content marketing strategy.

Information graphics or infographics are stand-alone graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge.

“Infographics are a great way to convey complex information in a simple and concise way and are especially effective in B2B marketing.” SMA Marketing

Humans are visual creatures — 90% of information transmitted to your brain is visual — and because of this people are drawn to visual elements that attract their attention. Infographics grab your attention and, using graphic design elements meant to move you through the “story,” they hold your attention, which is the goal of every piece of marketing content.

Our brains process information presented to us in a visual format far better than text. It has been reported that we process visuals 60,000 times faster. Infographics, therefore, make information easier to process and digest.

People are also drawn to facts, figures, and statistics. When you combine these with compelling graphics you have a persuasive tool to help your content cut through the online noise.

In terms of social media marketing, they are an effective way of spreading information (the “viral” process) across multiple social networking sites. Infographics are “liked” and shared on social media 3X more than any other type of content. (NNGroup)

Because you can include your logo, website address, and other contact information in your infographics, they are a great way to brand your business and increase brand awareness. Branding is the art of differentiation. Good infographics with authoritative information also positions you as an expert in your field.

By including targeted keywords as part of the title, description and meta information of your Infographic, you can increase your search engine optimisation. This can be further increased by including an embed code so that other publishers can include it on their online channels, generating important backlinks to your site.
